I know, “nobody forgot about him”...

It just SEEMS like people did! If you mention RBs at USC, you here a lot of chatter (of course, much deserved) about Latt coming in… You WILL here someone say “Giles should be good this year, he is prolly the best RB on the team” (or something comparable because that is what the star ranking have told them.)... You will hear discussion of B-Madd (again, rightfully so) and “will he tear it up his senior season”- but it just seems like Kenny is always one of the last ones to get mentioned and it is just plain WRONG folks!

May I remind you that he was our leading rusher last year??

May I remind you all, that according to many, he has been the best RB on our team the past TWO years?

May I remind you he was the HS offensive player of the year in Ga. his senior season (or was it Mr. football… IDK)??

May I also remind you he was just a FRESHMAN last year? (RS)

He is coming back as a 3rd year Sophomore who was our leading rusher after not even playing in the first few games, and still it seems most people do not have him projected as our starter. I DO. Kenny Miles has a vice grip on the #1 Rb spot at USC, don’t get it twisted. B-Madd was a good Red zone back for us last year, and when we thought a big bruiser would be a better match up against certain teams, we started him even after Kenny “took over”- but Kenny is our “feature” back. His biggest problem last year was that he was still not quite strong enough to flat run people over… but he almost always broke first contact, and nobody could “arm tackle” him. He is not much behind Giles in speed, and a good step faster than Maddux (nobody can catch Sherm I’m sure!! LOL) so he has big play speed, but his quickness, agility and acceleration are his best traits. When he sees a hole, he explodes through it. I know he didn’t score many TDs last year, but Maddux got most of the work int he red zone as I mentioned before…

Perhaps I didn’t say enough about Kenny in my report after the one practice they had so I will remedy that here by stating the few things you could tell from a no-contact low impact work out like that one:

1: He is as big this year without pads as he looked last year IN pads. Yep, he added some weight in the right places- right across his chest and legs/waist… but it is MUSCLE, so he has not lost a step at all from what I can tell.

2: he has a “Swagger” about him. He seems to want to be the star around here. I think he can be, even after the prodigal son arrives.

3: he is working with first team more often than anybody. It may not seem to mean much in spring, but we have a very experienced bunch returning on offense next year. Basically the entire core of our starting 2 deep is back at skill positions except for Moe, and Gurley has replaced him so our coaches (for a pleasant change) are going INTO Spring knowing what people can do and where we want to play them…. Now we just work out the kinks they still had by the end of last year. I think our coaches know how they want to line up in the fall at most spots (minus the freshmen) already and are going to practice that way all through the spring. So, for the first time in recent memory, instead of trying piece stuff together we have our core guys returning and can add in players if and only if they are good enough to beat out an upperclassman, not because we are too thin and have to play guys early. Could be a good sign of things to come and, IMO, indicates that where guys play in the Spring may well be where we plan to line up in the Fall.

Sure, it is “All open now” , but our coaches know what they have and know what they want to do with them.

I did make mention of Giles’ improvement at catching passes out of the backfield, and he has added some weight too- looks really good. I love watching B-Madd score TDs, and he does it well (Had 10 last year!!). I wish Baker and Sherman the best of luck cracking the lineup at RB… and I believe Latt is the TRUTH…. but, I will still be shocked if anybody other than Kenny Miles is our #1 RB in the first game of the season.

From everything we’ve read and heard, let’s agree something took place of a sexual nature inside a public woman’s restroom at a bar in Georgia.

Question is was it consensual?

My question to the men, and women, out there is this:

Would a man, even after a bunch of drinks, suggest to a woman that they go into the “Ladies Room” to get it on?

Personally, I find it very difficult to believe Ben would suggest this. After all, he didn’t go to Clemson.

What do you think?

I think Ben’s freedom, if it’s a “he said, she said” case could hang on this point. Lawyers out there, chime in.

and it’s bull!! What the hell is going on?? I can’t remember the last time we had a dependable pen. Same junk, different year. Talent all over the field, good starting pitching, terrible pen. No excuse to not get to Omaha this year. Tanner needs to get it figured out!!!

Bangs Our New Closer?

Since Taylor did not get the job done as a closer, it appears we might now be looking at different options. Bangs looked great against Valpo setting them down in order but as we know, Valpo is not a team we can gauge our success by. Bangs has been here a few years and I hope he will get the chance and earn the right to be our closer. We must come up with someone to secure games for us in the last inning if we are to have a great year.
